Primm Nevada is a small gambling town in the desert, about 40 miles south of Las Vegas. Until the late 1990s Primm was known as Stateline, because the community is located on Interstate 15 where the highway crosses from Nevada to California.
The history of Primm varies, depending on whom you ask. The one thing most everyone agrees on is that the settlement was founded by Pete MacIntyre who owned a gas-station and was also a bootlegger; hence he was known as Whiskey Pete. One of the casino resorts is named after him. In the year 2000 the town's population was estimated to be around 500.
What does one do in Primm, Nevada besides gamble? Each of the three resorts features a number of attractions worth seeing or experiencing. Here are a few examples: The Bonnie and Clyde Exhibit at Primm Valley informs about the notorious couple. Their bullet-riddled car is on display. Buffalo Bill's has the Desperado, the famous roller coasters you've heard or read about. And at Whiskey Pete's you can enjoy good live music in the Show Bar or relax by the heated pool and watch the kids have fun on the water slide.
Golfers will love the two courses at Primm Valley Golf Club. It's a true oasis in the desert, be sure to bring you camera!
If you're a shopoholic the Primm Valley Outlet Mall is not to be missed. It's huge, you can "shop till you drop", as they say.
As mentioned at the beginning, Primm Nevada is a gambling town in the desert. The community's economy depends on the casinos. But if you're not a big spender you can enjoy Primm just the same. The cheapest way to have fun in a casino is to play "the game". The Game provides gambling fun on a tiny bankroll, it incorporates competition, strategy, and it can be played by two or more people.
